Matthew played the role of an orphan taken in by Charles Ingalls and
his family. The actor was 9 when he came to the national attention in
"Pappa and Me" with his mourning portrayal of a boy who learns about
death as part of life when his beloved grandfather dies. Matthew also
appeared in the NBC Movie of the Week, "Killing Stone", written and
directed by Michael Landon in the spring of 1978
He plays the son of a free-lance journalist in "Killing Stone", and was
the star of the Saturday morning series "The Red Hand Gang". Matthew
also appeared in the 'Highway to Heaven' episode "The Right Thing" in
1985. Matthew's older brother is Patrick Laborteaux, who had a recurring
role as Andy in "Little House on the Prairie", the son of Jonathan
Garvey.
